Call for proposals: Digital Solutions for People and Society 2022-2: Climate Change & Health

The interactions between climate change and health are undisputed and affect vulnerable target groups. Health should be understood here not only as the absence of disease but, according to the WHO definition, as a more comprehensive and positive concept that takes into account social and personal resources as well as physical abilities. A major challenge is how to cope with everyday life in hot summer conditions, from which many people are increasingly suffering. Where can innovative solutions come in that both increase well-being and awareness/knowledge levels, and mitigate the effects of climate change?

What is funded?

In this call, cooperative R&D projects can be submitted in the funding categories Industrial Research and Experimental Development.

Who will be funded?

Funding is available for inter- and transdisciplinary consortia consisting of companies, research institutions and others, with the involvement of end users. The consortia are particularly interested in the economic activities of public service providers and municipalities (e.g. as providers of nursing and care services) and, if they have an appropriate profile in the project, they will be considered as companies.

How much funding is available?

A budget of 2.77 million euros is available for the call. The funding rate depends on the type of organization of the individual partners (SME, MU, GU, research institution, other).

What are the submission criteria?

Consortia consisting of at least two partners are eligible for submission, whereby at least one Austrian company must be involved in the project. The project consortium must also include either an SME, a research institution or an organization from another EU Member State or a contracting party to the EEA Agreement. In addition, cost-sharing requirements must be observed. Further details on the tender contents and the other requirements can be found in the Tender Guide as well as in the Instrument Guide in the download area.

Submission deadline: 18 April 2023

What do I need for a submission?

The submission takes place online via eCall.

When will there be a decision?

The funding decision is scheduled for July 2023.
