The MACRAMÉ project investigates the impact of Advanced Materials on health and the environment across industrial product life cycles. The 1^st MACRAMÉ Regulatory Risk Assessors Summit merges risk assessment and life cycle assessment (LCA). Drawing from previous initiatives and insights from regulators, industry, scientists and consumers, the Summit tackles issues of LCA within European policy frameworks, such as the Green Deal and the Safe and Sustainable by Design approach. Participants from diverse sectors are invited to learn about LCA and discuss challenges and communalities between sustainability and risk assessment. Based on this, we formulate recommendations towards research, standardisation, and harmonisation of test methods to cover assessment of Advanced Materials along their life cycle.
