ERA Symposium “Unlocking the Value of Knowledge”

You are invited to the first Austrian ERA Symposium taking place on 9 November 2023 in Vienna. The full-day on site event is dedicated to “Unlocking the Value of Knowledge“ and will focus on “Open Science” and “Knowledge Valorisation” as two highly important current topics in research and innovation policy. It marks the launch of a new series of annual symposia in Austria focussing on the new European Research Area (ERA).

We are looking forward to welcoming a broad range of actors from the Austrian science, research and innovation community, high-level European Commission representatives as well as interested guests from other ERA countries. The annual ERA symposia are part of the implementation of the Austrian National Action Plan for the ERA (2022-2025) which is based on the EU’s ERA Policy Agenda (2022-2024).

The ERA Symposium 2023 is organised in conjunction with the Tour des Capitales of the European Commission to promote the guiding principles of knowledge valorisation and with the Open Science Austria (OSA) Community Day. The event will provide an ideal opportunity for stakeholders from academia, business and civil society to engage with two core initiatives of the Austrian ERA Action Plan: Open Science and Knowledge Valorisation. The symposium will thus offer a forum for feedback on the first results of the initiatives and for your suggestions for the next steps of their implementation.

Information on registration for the ERA Symposium and a detailed agenda will be available shortly.
