Help Define the Social Dimension of Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design in Pharma

About the PHASE5 project

The growing emphasis on sustainability in innovation highlights the need to integrate Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) principles early in product development. This approach is essential to advancing the objectives of the EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability under the European Green Deal. PHASE5 aims to strengthen the implementation and assessment of SSbD – particularly its socio-economic dimension (Step 5) – within the context of advanced materials in the pharmaceutical industry. The project will develop actionable recommendations to enhance SSbD integration into innovation, especially social sustainability aspects.
