As the science and knowledge service of the Commission, the mission of DG Joint Research Centre is to support EU policies with independent evidence throughout the whole policy cycle.

The current vacancy is in the Consumer Product Safety Unit of the Directorate for Health and Consumer Protection and it is located in Ispra. The Unit is responsible for providing scientific/technical support to the policy making partner DGs in the following areas:
- nanotechnology related policies.
- new advanced materials,
- micro and nanoplatics, sustainability in a circular economy
- the implementation of the new medical devices legal framework.
The JRC is offering a position for a contract agent in the context of its institutional program on Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability. The selected person will develop scientifically reliable and regulatory relevant methods, guidance and good practice documents for nanomaterials and other advanced materials and micro(nano)plastics by translating scientific knowledge into harmonised tools and standards.
